
Just off the Glooscap Trail, The Glooscap Heritage Centre in Truro, Nova Scotia is hard to miss as the 40-foot statue of Glooscap (legendary Mi'kmaq figure) towers over the Centre dedicated to telling the story on Nova Scotia's native Mi'kmaq (Micmac) people. Located off highway 102 at exit 13A the Glooscap Heritage Centre is Atlantic Canada's premiere aboriginal tourism destination sharing Mi'kmaq legends, heritage and culture through artifacts, exhibits, displays, a multimedia presentation, and guided interpretation. The Centre is also home to the Truro Visitor Information Centre and an aboriginal focused gift shop. Glooscap lived along the Bay of Fundy and was believed to have helped shape the landscape of the Fundy region known for the highest tides in the world. The Glooscap Heritage Centre is centrally located in Truro, Nova Scotia and is therefore a must for all tour group and school group travel itineraries.
