Spring is a wonderful time of the year in Central Nova Scotia.
And it would not be the same without the return of vibrant color, as trees and plant life begin to bloom. Most incredible are the thousands of tulips found in the Town of Truro where an annual Tulip Festival is celebrated in May.

With the weather warming up, this time of year is fantastic for exploring the many scenic waterfalls found throughout Central Nova Scotia. The falls are at their prime with additional run-off from melting snow.

Spring is a time to emerge from the hybernation of winter and to get outside and enjoy our wonderful wilderness.  The rivers are full for conoeing and kayaking, and it's a great time of year to spot wildlife.  Migratory birds return from south and white tail deer can often be found herding in roadside fields.

Maple sugar time! The first sign of spring in Central Nova Scotia is the harvest of maple sugar. Many local communities celebrate this sweet treat by holding community maple suppers as part of an annual Maple Festival.
